Update 4/11/06

Holy shit! It's been fucking ages since I updated this page. Well, A lot has happened since I last updated this page (As you can guess). I've played a lot of games, I havn't seen much new in firearms and I've listened to a lot of music... So a fair bit has happened. But lets start with the Games...

Games

I've "received" a few games lately, nothing new or amazing, but better than nothing, here's a list:

Company of Heroes

A fairly good WWII shooter based on the popular "Dawn of War" engine. But a problem I've discovered with this game is:

If you're losing "control points", your resources drop and you can build a force/defend your base as well. So if you're losing, you'll keep losing, it's very hard, But very fun.

DEFCON

I felt was a big let down. They advertised it as being a really fun, really amazing, Cold war/Nuclear warfare simulator... It's nothing like that, it's really quite boring, and well, Shit. I'm sure for a game you play in the office during "down-time", it's pretty good, but as a game to play for some adventure, excitement or a rush... You get nothing.

Flatout 2

Isn't much different from the original, Although it's got a better feeling to the car's, your actually able to drive this car (To an extent). Don't worry, it still has those stunt games, it's even added a few wierd ones that are fun (e.g. Stone skipping). And that annoying instant where your driver flies out of the window for hiting a rock on the road... No longer happens, he'll only fly out if you hit something full on.

Half-Life 2: Episode One

Is a very good Expansion. It adds to the story nicely, And it's good to see a return of most of the characters (Especially "DOG"). Some changes were made to the gameplay that made it that little bit better, Like, Re-programming the "Roller mines" and the "snipers" rifle being used by Alex, Although the puzzle's while exiting the "Citadel" were most enjoyable. 1 bad thing about the expansion though, was the area I nicknamed "Doom 3 area", It's a section of the game where you're in an underground car-park. It's pitch black, Your torch doesn't last long, and the suicidal "Zombines" make this a very annoying part of the game.

Gun Metal

... Wasn't what I thought it was. It's quite bland and boring. You're some cool transforming robot thing, and your saving the free world or some shit like that... So it's really quite annoying. Although If you like arcade games, it'll keep you entertained for a while.

flOw

flOw s so damn cool. It's free, and short... But is a great. Unfortunatly it uses flash, so going fullscreen degrades the perfomance cronically. It reminds me of what the first few levels of Spore will look like. You can play flOw online from here, or download it by picking a mirror at the top of the same page.

Music

Now onto music. I've been hearing a few Aussie bands lately which is cool, I love the sound of an aussie accent in rock. Some of the bands I've heard (listed by country) are:

U.S.

Australia

International

Nothing else to report.

Have fun guys.
